Explore Niagara-on-the-Lake’s finest gardens on June 10

- Flora and fauna aficionados can stroll through eight stunning gardens on the Shaw Guild’s annual tour –

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (May 1, 2017) – Garden enthusiasts will have an exclusive opportunity to wander through artisan gardens in Niagara-on-the-Lake and the nearby picturesque town of Queenston on Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets to this tour are $25 each and can be purchased at the Shaw Festival Box Office, online at www.shawfest.com/gardentour or by calling 1-800-511-7429.

This year’s self-guided tour highlights the sights and sounds of eight new gardens, including:

  • The Shaw Festival’s own redesigned Secret Garden featuring ponds and waterfalls;
  • A historic-themed garden inspired by one of Niagara’s oldest properties;
  • Extensive English-style gardens incorporating over 300 varieties of trees, shrubs and perennials.

Each property has a feature sheet with garden details and a Master Gardener on hand to answer questions. A tour of the featured gardens can be complemented by a matinee showing of the toe-tapping musical Me and My Girl or an evening performance of Tim Carroll’s Shaw Festival directorial debut, Saint Joan.

All proceeds from this annual event go to the Shaw Festival Theatre Endowment Fund – a permanent fund which generates investment income for the maintenance and support of the Shaw Festival.

The Shaw Guild Annual Garden Tour is made possible by the support of garden owners, Master Gardener and local sponsors, including: Mori Gardens, Phil’s Valu Mart, Reif Estate Winery, Simpson’s Pharmacies, Bravo Niagara, Niagara-on-the-Lake Realty, Gauld Nurseries Inc., Tree Amigos Landscaping, Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club & Restaurant, William King, Neil Viola, Josh Bond and Il Gelato di Carlotta.
