Beloved family entertainer Fred Penner to perform at the Royal George Theatre

- One night only all ages show to raise funds for the Shaw Festival Syrian Refugee Project -

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (August 3, 2016) — Revisit childhood memories and spend an evening with multiple Juno Award-winner and adored television host Fred Penner, of Fred Penner’s Place, on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. This special performance, in support of the Shaw Festival Syrian Refugee Project, will take place at the Royal George Theatre (85 Queen Street).

For one night only, young fans, and those young-at-heart, can sing along with the multi-talented Penner – a performer many grew up watching on television – to childhood classics like The Cat Came Back, Sandwiches, We’re Gonna Shine and What a Day. After the show, come meet the man Los Angeles Parent called the “Canadian Minister of Positivity”. Fred Penner CDs will be available for purchase.

About the Shaw Festival Syrian Refugee Project

A group of Shaw Festival company members were inspired to reach out and do their part to help resettle Syrian families in Canada. Joining forces with two Niagara-on-the-Lake churches, St. Mark’s and Grace United; they were able to sponsor two families. One family has since arrived and is now settled in St. Catharines, while the second family’s arrival has been delayed due to the ongoing bombing in Turkey.
