- Plus a new block of tickets on sale for The Dance of Death -

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (June 22, 2016) — Both Engaged and A Woman of No Importance have been delighting preview audiences in advance of their openings this weekend. Having already extended both productions earlier this year, the Shaw Festival continues to respond to audience demand by adding another seven performances to the 2016 season. Also, a new block of tickets for the sell-out of the 2016 season The Dance of Death is now on sale.

“Our patrons continue to delight in the productions Jackie Maxwell has programmed in her final season as artistic director. And we want to give our audiences every opportunity to see the world-class performances happening on our four stages,” said Tim Jennings, Executive Director of the Shaw Festival.

W.S Gilbert’s Engaged, a romantic comedy directed by Morris Panych, has additional performances on October 26 at 8 p.m. and October 28, 29 and 30 at 2 p.m. The schedule for Eda Holmes’s stylish and sophisticated take on Oscar Wilde’s A Woman of No Importance now includes performances on October 25 and 27 at 2 p.m., and October 29 at 8 p.m.

Before it even hits the stage, August Strindberg’s The Dance of Death, directed by Martha Henry and starring theatre luminaries Jim Mezon and Fiona Reid, continues to be the top selling show in Studio Theatre history. Each performance now has additional seating – allowing 10 per cent more patrons to attend this must-see production.

Tickets for the Shaw Festival’s 2016 season and the newly announced performances are now available through the Box Office at 1-800-511-SHAW and online at www.shawfest.com.

A Woman of No Importance is sponsored by CIBC.
