Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (May 4, 2015) – Eight of the finest private gardens in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s historic Old Town are showcased during the 10th annual Shaw Guild’s Garden Tour on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The one-day self-guided tour features numerous varieties of native and exotic plants, trees and perennials on display in lovely historic surroundings all within walking distance of each other. Some gardens are formal with trimmed hedges and walking paths, while others ramble across large estate acreage overlooking the Niagara River. Feature sheets on the showcased landscapes will be available at each location and the proud gardeners will be on site to answer questions.

“A dedicated committee and more that 100 Shaw Guild volunteers have worked diligently for many months to seek out and prepare these special gardens,” said Alan Walker, 2015 Garden Tour Convener and Guild Board Fundraising Chair. “Whether you’re an avid gardener or someone with an affection for flora, the Annual Garden Tour is truly a treat and not to be missed.”

Tickets are $25.00 each and can be purchased at the Shaw Festival Box Office, online at shawfest.com/gardentour or by calling 1-800-511-SHAW (7429).

All proceeds from this one-day event go to the Shaw Festival Theatre Endowment Fund – the permanent fund which generates investment income for the maintenance and support of the Shaw Festival.

The Shaw Guild Annual Garden Tour is made possible by the support of local sponsors, including Mori Gardens, Bravo Niagara, eSkoot Niagara, Il Gelato di Carlotta, Niagara-on-the-Lake Realty, Phil’s Valu-Mart, Reif Estate Winery, Simpson’s Pharmacies, The Village at Niagara by Brookfield Residential, along with William King, Willow Slingerland and Neil Viola.
