Andrew Bovell’s stirring generational epic makes Canadian premiere at The Shaw

Media Release #27

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, August 25, 2011…Andrew Bovell’s When the Rain Stops Falling, the final production of the Shaw Festival’s 50th season, will officially open and make its Canadian premiere this Friday at the Studio Theatre.

Reflecting The Shaw’s expanded mandate — the inclusion of contemporary Shavians onto the playbill — Andrew Bovell’s When the Rain Stops Falling upholds the continuum of provocative, subversive playwriting for which Bernard Shaw was renowned. This vital work presented in the Studio Theatre, started by The Entertainer in 2009, followed by Serious Money in 2010 and accompanied by Topdog/Underdog this season, has been attracting new audiences to The Shaw and creating excitement for the company and core audience alike.
