Shaw Festival welcomes new members to Board and Governors’ International Advisory Council

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, January 28, 2011….During Friday’s Annual Meeting at the Shaw Festival, out-going Chair Janet McKelvey, Executive Director Colleen Blake and Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell welcomed in-coming Chair Gary M. Comerford and new board members Gregory J. (Greg) Berti, VP Estate Wines & Global Markets, Andrew Peller Limited.; Shauneen E. Bruder, Executive VP, Operations, Canadian Banking, Royal Bank of Canada; Michele S. Darling, Owner/President, Michele Darling & Associates; Jay J.A. Forbes, President & CEO, Teranet Inc.; Peter E.S. Jewett, Senior Partner, Torys LLP; Ronald H. Luczak, Vice-President of Business Development, The Travel Team, Inc./American Express; and Donald J.P. Ziraldo, Past President, Inniskillin Wines, Inc., along with Honorary Governor Gabor G.S. Takach, Partner, Torys LLP; and ex-officio governors Peter Barwell, President, Shaw Guild, and Dave Eke, Lord Mayor, Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

New Governors’ International Advisory Council member Allison Blinken was also welcomed. 

The Company recognized and thanked retiring board members Richard D. Falconer, Alonna Goldfarb, Mary S. Martino, Frank L. McAuley, Hon. David R. Peterson, Gary Burroughs, ex-officio; Carol Reid, ex-officio; and Advisory Council Member William B.G. Humphries.

The Shaw Festival’s milestone season begins April 7, 2011, runs until October 30, 2011 and features an array of diverse theatre on the Festival’s four Niagara-on-the-Lake stages. This momentous season includes productions of My Fair Lady, Heartbreak House, The Admirable Crichton, Drama at Inish – A Comedy, On the Rocks, Maria Severa, Candida, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The President, Topdog/Underdog, When the Rain Stops Falling and a special 50th season two-day event, The Speed of Ideas  - A Theatrical Forum featuring award-winning playwrights Tony Kushner and Suzan-Lori Parks and author and renowned theatre critic Michael Billington.
